Tonight, Chef Maria shares her passion for cooking with locally-sourced seasonal ingredients and invites us to experience a relaxed, chef-at-home meal featuring food typical to her Northern Mexican hometown. We’ll help whip up the kind of menu Chef Maria might make for friends and family on her day off, exploring traditional techniques along the way. On the menu: queso flameado (melted cheese topped with spicy chorizo) y salsa de chiles toreados (quick roasted chile salsa); frijoles a la charra (ranch-style beans); discada (mixed meat and vegetable stir fry) and, to finish, gorditas de azucar con chocolate caliente (sweet tortillas with hot chocolate).
